1) NYX: SFX Face & Body Paint Sticks in "Giving Ghost"

Marketed as special effects makeup for Halloween looks, this creamy paint stick by NYX has already become a part of Char's daily makeup kit. While this product looks similar to the Jumbo Eye Pencil Multi-use Eye Crayon by the same company, she found that it was more pigmented, and its thicker and creamier texture also made it apply more smoothly. Char says, "Don't forget to pick up a jumbo eye pencil sharpener for this one so you can keep it sharp and ready to use!
2) L.A. Girl: HD Pro. Concealer in "Flat White"

Next we have a liquid matte white concealer by L.A. Girl. Having used other shades in this product before, Char confirms that it’s easy to apply and gives good coverage. She says, "While I usually squeeze some out on the back of my hand and use it like a makeup palette, some people find its brush tip application super convenient. Those looking for a light beige nose stripe may notice this concealer is also available in a variety of typical concealer colours!"
This little gel liner by Colourpop narrow tip makes it suited for drawing precise lines. It advertises highly pigmented colour in a super creamy formula. This product is also advertised as waterproof and designed for up to 18-hour wear! Char says, "Its great for applying on the inner corners of the eye or touching up the edges of other white makeup!"
4) Colourpop: Cloud 9 Eyeshadow Palette "All Fluff" and "Droplets"

This cool-tone powder palette by Colourpop promises an ultra-pigmented pressed powder formula that is easy to apply and blend. Both white shades (“droplets,” a shimmery white, and “all fluff,” a matte white) are great for gyaru make. Char says, "I’m really excited to try this palette because every Colourpop palette I’ve tried has been super pigmented, and I think I would get great use out of some of the other shades in this palette, especially the light blue and the silver."

5) Juvia's Place: Warrior II palette "Zaz"
Layla likes the shade "Zaz" in the Warrior II pallette from Juvia's Place because it’s super pigmented even on darker skin tones. She says, "If you want it to look super white I suggest using a white face paint underneath and setting it with the eyeshadow. Even without the face paint it’s still super pigmented!"

6) Kryolan: TV Paint Stick in "White"

Trusted by many drag queens, this SFX product is very sweat resistant. It’s easy to blend and buildable too. Because the formula is a hybrid of oil and wax ingredients, it is also super durable. To remove this long-lasting product easily, Kryolan recommends using any of these three of their makeup removers: Abschminke, Clean & Care Natural Cleansing Oil, and Clean & Care Natural Cleansing Lotion. With the right remover, this product will come off easily after a long day of looking fabulous!
7) Mehron: Clown White

This product may be designed for clowns, but there’s nothing funny about the high quality and coverage it provides! Gyaru who use this product are in excellent company: in addition to the talented clowns and mimes who use it, there are also many shironuri artists who use this product as their foundation. Mehron advertises that this matte white product is easy to work with, and resists cracking.

8) Nicka K: Perfection Highlighter in "Misty Rose"

On a budget and want a reliable, no nonsense product? You must try Nicka K Makeup's highlighter. Pocha says, "First of all, it's very cheap you can get it at any local beauty supply store or online! It's perfect if you want a striking highlight on the browbone above the eye and the nose stripe, but also, if you're someone that like me who likes to use a cream base and then set it with a shimmer, this is the best thing in the entire world LMAO it's super bright and shimmery! I use it all over my face and I don't know where I would be without it, she's my darling!"

9) Sugarpill: Pressed Eyeshadow in “Tako”

Need a super pigmented white eyeshadow with high coverage, but don’t want to buy a whole palette of other colours to get it? Look no further! Sugarpill Cosmetics’ Pressed Eyeshadow comes as a single and a refill pan so you don’t have to carry a whole palette on you just for one colour. Talk about convenience and eco-friendly product design! The best part about the formula? According to Rey, it’s not chalky at all!

🌺 PRO TIPS!
According to Char, the key to getting a bold solid white is layering. "If it’s not white enough, I put more: concealer, then cream, then white eyeshadow, and then shimmer." She continues: “I don’t use super dark foundation, so the whites are so important because they give me contrast.” This means that her products need to be super pigmented. Her secret to the brightest whites possible? “Adding shimmer,” she says, “the shimmer is helpful because reflecting light makes your make look brighter.”
